As a Structural Project Engineer at Nucor Buildings Group, you will play a crucial role in designing innovative metal building systems that meet our high standards of quality and performance. Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop safe and economical structures that fulfill project requirements while adhering to industry codes and standards.
  • Utilize our proprietary software for frame, secondary, bracing, crane, mezzanine, and panel analysis to ensure structural integrity and performance.
  • Work closely with the Detailing Department and other team members to communicate design requirements effectively and ensure seamless project execution.
  • Review and check structural drawings for accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering/Architectural Engineering from an ABET Accredited school
  • Proficient verbal and written communication in the English language
  • Strong knowledge of structural building codes: IBC, AISC 360, AISC 341, AISC 358, ASCE7, AISI, etc.
  • Professional Engineer registration in the United States or 3-5 years of structural design experience with an FE registration actively pursuing PE licensure within 1 year of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A strong background in Engineering in the Pre-Engineered Metal Building Industry
  • Structural Engineer registration in the United States
  • Proficiency with some type of metal building design software package
