Job Title: Structural Engineering Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced Structural Engineering Manager to lead our commercial building design practice area. This is a unique opportunity to become a key part of our firm's management team and drive practice area goals for the company strategic plan.

Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with architects, owners, and contractors to deliver high-quality structural engineering services.
  • Write engineering proposals and negotiate engineering contracts to secure new business opportunities.
  • Perform structural analysis and design for all aspects of building structures, including steel, wood, masonry, and concrete.
  • Lead a team of structural engineers, technicians, and designers to deliver commercial building design projects, including drawing and specification production, construction administration, site observations, and building assessments.
  • Coach and mentor junior-level engineers and perform independent reviews of drawings and calculations done by others.
Requirements:
  • BSCE with structural concentration from an ABET-accredited engineering program required (MSCE preferred).
  • PE license required with the ability to obtain multiple state licenses through comity.
  • 12+ years of structural engineering design and construction administration experience for commercial building construction in a consulting engineering design firm setting.
  • Proven leadership of a team of engineers with the ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Familiarity with design codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318, and AISI.
  • Understanding of the roles and responsibilities within the project delivery and construction administration processes for commercial building projects.
  • Experienced in the design of steel, wood, masonry, and concrete structures.
  • Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RAM, Tekla, RISA, and similar programs.
  • Working experience with AutoCAD and REVIT.
  • Ability to effectively establish and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
