Job Summary

Toyota is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Production Engineer to join our Battery group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing and coordinating battery manufacturing equipment to support new model launches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and coordinate battery manufacturing equipment to support new model launches
  • Support the Battery department's objective to execute Capital Projects from planning through Start of Production (SOP)
  • Lead the cost planning, budget creation, machine specification, procurement, validation, installation, pre-production trials, and launch of battery production lines
  • Participate in cross-functional working groups across the local facility and corporate departments to achieve project goals
  • Construction and equipment installations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering or a similar technical field
  • 5+ years of equivalent manufacturing experience
  • Experience in production preparation of manufacturing and execution of capital projects, preferably from initial planning to start of production
  • Project management experience dealing with capital investments greater than $250K
  • AutoCAD experience, including the ability to read, interpret, and modify 2D drawings
  • Ability to work weekend, holiday, and shutdown work, including business travel, both domestic and international, up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree, above a Bachelor's
  • Experience with laser welding
  • Equipment installation and validation experience
  • Experience with chemical procedures in a manufacturing environment
