Job Overview

PEAKE is seeking a highly skilled Virtualization Engineer to support the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in VMware infrastructure, server virtualization, and enterprise storage and backup system administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and sustain the on-going daily operational use of a VMware infrastructure, including updating, testing, and deploying vSphere and vCenter product releases.
  • Manage and administer physical and virtual servers, primarily Windows and Linux servers.
  • Support and management of server virtualization, server provisioning, physical server maintenance, security compliance, and daily operations.
  • Manage VMware vSphere, with emphasis on automation, and enterprise storage and backup system administration, installation, and on-going maintenance experience.
  • Maintain server lifecycle - provisioning, maintenance, and decommissioning of the hardware.
  • Maintain the virtualized server environment via configuration, implementation, management, and support activities.
  • Monitor the virtual server infrastructure environment's health status, service performance, and utilization.
  • Implement and maintain continuous compliance to information security policies and technical standards, report, and remediation of non-compliances.
  • Maintain the security baseline compliance via configuration, implementation, and remediation activities.
  • Apply regular security patches and software updates.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain integrity, and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Integrate new technologies into new and existing systems, including the transition and migration of corporate systems.
  • Perform systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks.
  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
  • Provide installation and operational support of voice and data communications hardware and software systems.
  • Perform configuration of operating system and security patches for host and distributed systems and implement incident response procedures during incidents of a network or host security breach.
  • Review customer requirements and make recommendations for changes to existing technical architecture.
  • Comply with prescribed customer, industry, and agency standards.
  • Provide support to IT systems, including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree with 12 years of experience or Master's with 10 years of experience.
  • Required Skillset:
    • Ability to provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems.
    • Be able to provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
  • Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI.
  • Required Certification(s):
    • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract.
    • IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent.
    • Computing Env: Computing Env: MSCA 2016, Microsoft Azure Administrator or equivalent (Must obtain the full AZ104 Microsoft Azure Administrator within 180 days from start date).
