Job Overview:
Position Summary: The Process Engineer plays a crucial role in delivering technical guidance and support to Cooper Standard's manufacturing operations.

This role is essential for standardizing processes across product lines, which includes the formulation and upkeep of standards utilized for equipment specifications, procurement, cost estimation, and the dissemination of best practices within Cooper Standard.

This position collaborates closely with Sales, Engineering, Finance, Purchasing, and Cost Estimating teams.

Key Responsibilities:


Collaborates with Cooper Standard's manufacturing sites to minimize costs, enhance quality, and achieve advancements in both process and product technology. Leads the exploration and execution of new or enhanced equipment, tooling, and processes to meet evolving production demands.

Engages with external machinery suppliers, machine shops, and plant engineering and maintenance teams in these initiatives. Assists in validating new processes as required.

May need to secure or negotiate approvals or modifications to customer product specifications. Initiates projects and tasks through innovative thinking, leveraging manufacturing and product expertise. Confirms the feasibility and capability of proposed product and process enhancements using statistical methodologies. Aids in the transition of products and processes between manufacturing sites. Possesses an understanding of Cooper Standard's product lines beyond the primary discipline.

For assigned technologies, serves as a communicative link between CS technical and manufacturing locations, including other global regions, for the purpose of process development, best practice sharing, and standardization.

Mentors junior program engineers. Maintains knowledge of best practices, processes, and customer requirements. Stays updated on advancements related to manufacturing and product technology through interactions with suppliers, customers, and industry publications.

May, on occasion, be tasked with responsibilities beyond those specified in this description. Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in engineering is preferred. Typically requires two or more years of experience. Capable of resolving issues in standard situations; evaluates potential solutions using technical expertise and judgment. Influences the quality and effectiveness of personal work and that of team members; operates within guidelines and policies to achieve objectives and meet deadlines. Ability to convey moderately complex information to others clearly. Strong written and presentation skills. Must possess solid technical and mechanical aptitude. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Ability to assess risks and prioritize tasks. Willingness and capability to travel as necessary. Work Environment/

Work Conditions:
Professional Office Environment. Must utilize appropriate personal protective equipment while on the manufacturing floor. Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations may be required.
