Job Summary

Entergy is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Reactor Engineer to provide technical leadership for reactor core performance and monitoring, advocate nuclear fuel reliability, maintain and revise fuel and special nuclear material management accountability and configuration, and provide technical assistance to Operations that establish conservative reactivity management and conservative decision making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage core performance monitoring and trending, fuel management and configuration control, and the Special Nuclear Material and Accountability program.
  • Evaluate core component lifetime and provide replacement instructions.
  • Support training of Operations and Engineering on fuel and core related topics. Serve as the site fuel reliability monitor and champion the fuel reliability program.
  • Support Operations for maneuvers/core analysis/operating limits considerations. Support Operations in Reactivity Control and Management.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the reactor core and associated areas. Manage reactor core-related surveillances and startup testing. Monitor maintenance and revision to Reactor Engineering procedures.
  • Support dry fuel storage-related activities and irradiated core component disposal. Implement fuel storage and handling requirements. Support core reload design analysis and batch reload implementation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Engineering or another closely related scientific discipline/physical science generally associated with power plant operations, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum experience required for the position: Engineer I (0+ years), Engineer II (2+ years), Engineer III (4+ years), Engineer Sr (6+ years).
  • Good to excellent communication skills. Experience/proficiency in PC use and applications, depending upon engineering level.
  • ANSI/ANS Qualifications - For Senior Reactor Engineer Only. Candidates must meet or exceed ANSI/ANS ANSI Section Reactor Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
  • SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR; Professional Engineering license.
