Nuclear Licensing Specialist

Volt is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Licensing Engineer to join our team in Bellevue, WA. As a Nuclear Licensing Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting the MCFR advanced reactor project by providing licensing support, developing licensing documents, and engaging with regulatory agencies.
Key Responsibilities:- Draft, author, and review licensing documents, including Construction Permit Applications, Preliminary Safety Analysis Reports, Operating License Applications, and Final Safety Analysis Reports.
- Interface with the Licensing Team to complete licensing tasks and ensure compliance with regulations and quality assurance standards.
- Coordinate with design personnel to ensure designs and design changes meet regulatory requirements.
- Prepare, review, and maintain licensing documentation in compliance with regulations and quality assurance standards.
- Interact with technical discipline teams and prepare and review technical material.
- Review correspondence to and from the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited, four-year university or equivalent experience.
- Capability and willingness to adhere to strict quality assurance standards.
- Self-Starter with ability to manage deadlines.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe.
- 5 or more years demonstrated, applicable experience in nuclear licensing, quality assurance, project management, or equivalent experience in a comparable field.
- Familiarity with US NRC 10 CFR regulations and guidance.
- Familiarity with application of a risk-informed performance-based framework for licensing advanced reactors.
- Strong communication skills with an emphasis on writing and interpersonal skills.
