Nuclear Licensing Engineer Job Description

Volt is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Licensing Engineer to join our team in Bellevue, WA. This is a full-time contingent opportunity with a competitive hourly rate of $83.00.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft, author, and review licensing documents, including Construction Permit Applications, Preliminary Safety Analysis Reports, and Operating License Applications.
  • Interface with the Licensing Team to complete licensing tasks and ensure compliance with regulations and quality assurance standards.
  • Coordinate with design personnel to ensure designs and design changes meet regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain licensing documentation in compliance with regulations and quality assurance standards.
  • Review correspondence to and from the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited, four-year university or equivalent experience.
  • Capability and willingness to adhere to strict quality assurance standards.
  • Self-Starter with ability to manage deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and Adobe.
  • 5 or more years demonstrated, applicable experience in nuclear licensing, quality assurance, project management, or equivalent experience in a comparable field.
  • Familiarity with US NRC 10 CFR regulations and guidance.
  • Familiarity with application of a risk-informed performance-based framework for licensing advanced reactors.
  • Strong communication skills with an emphasis on writing and interpersonal skills.
