Job Summary

Michigan Medicine seeks a highly skilled Revenue Cycle Coding Supervisor to lead our inpatient coding team. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely coding and billing of patient services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of inpatient coders to ensure accurate and timely coding and billing of patient services.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of coding and billing processes.
  • Monitor and analyze coding and billing data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure staff are knowledgeable about coding and billing regulations and best practices.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in Health Information Management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Registered Health Information Technologist or Administrator (RHIT/RHIA) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
  • Minimum of 2 years of inpatient coding experience within a large, fast-paced, and complex healthcare organization.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
