Colliflower Inc., a prominent distributor of hoses and fittings, is seeking a Retail Operations Trainee. This role operates Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Reliable transportation and local travel are essential.

Established in 1951, Colliflower has built a strong reputation for delivering exceptional customer service and high-quality fluid conveyance products. The company specializes in fabricating and selling a diverse range of fluid connector items, including hydraulic and pneumatic hoses, metric and brass fittings, quick couplings, adapters, and various accessories. With over 40 locations across 10 states, Colliflower is poised for further growth.

This position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain insights into the fluid connector industry and the operational aspects of Colliflower. Training will encompass various areas such as business operations, customer engagement, inventory management, sales techniques, product knowledge, hose assembly, and store management. The training will occur across different store and hub locations to align with the developmental requirements of the role.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement

  • Address inquiries from both internal and external customers promptly and professionally.
  • Assist in identifying suitable product solutions under the guidance of the Retail Operations Manager.
  • Help resolve customer issues with support from the Retail Operations Manager.
  • Utilize Colliflower's Vision and Guiding Principles in all customer interactions.
  • Provide potential sales leads and insights to the Retail Operations Manager; actively engage in customer acquisition initiatives.
  • Participate in Colliflower's internal training programs within the first three months of employment.
  • Actively promote the full range of company products and services.

Hose Assembly & Store Management

  • Assemble products and crimp hoses according to manufacturer specifications with guidance from the Retail Operations Manager.
  • Support the Retail Operations Manager in waste reduction and cost-saving efforts.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean store environment.
  • Assist with routine maintenance of the facility.

Inventory & Product Oversight

  • Manage deliveries, unpack products, stock shelves, and maintain cleanliness.
  • Execute inventory projects as directed by the Retail Operations Manager.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders as necessary.
  • Ensure product displays are well-maintained.
  • Handle shipping and receiving tasks.

Administrative Duties

  • Process sales transactions accurately.
  • Assist the Retail Operations Manager with recording transactions related to invoices, stock transfers, and inventory management.
  • Complete timecards consistently and accurately.
  • Safeguard confidential information and intellectual property.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Retail Operations Manager or Regional Support Manager.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong customer service abilities.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude is preferred.
  • A solid work ethic.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills; ability to read and interpret a tape measure and understand metrics.
  • High School diploma or equivalent education is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 150 lbs.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and climb.
  • Manual dexterity is necessary for operating machinery and tools.

Work Environment

  • Work is conducted in a workshop setting.
  • Regular use of standard office equipment (computers, phones, fax machines) as well as hand and power tools (hose saws, pliers, box cutters, tape measures, and crimping machines).
  • Exposure to various elements, though none are present to an uncomfortable degree (e.g., noise from equipment and occasional odors from cutting rubber hoses).
