Position Overview

As a Sales Route Specialist, you will be essential in fostering and nurturing robust customer connections. Your role involves daily, direct interactions with clients as you deliver essential goods and retrieve empty containers on a predetermined route.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and effectively load, transport, and unload essential goods and gas cylinders while collecting empty containers.
  • Maintain accurate load manifests and vehicle documentation.
  • Monitor customer needs to ensure optimal levels of goods and cylinders, reducing the necessity for emergency deliveries.
  • Utilize warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks as required.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and comply with DOT and OSHA regulations.
  • Possess and maintain the appropriate driver's license and endorsements.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle.
  • Assist with counter sales and customer inquiries in the store when needed.
  • Engage in warehouse tasks including receiving, shipping, and necessary paperwork.
  • Participate in cylinder filling and assist with inventory management and showroom displays.
  • Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • Class A CDL with HazMat endorsement preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry products and experience with compressed gases preferred.
  • Customer service or sales experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Meet all physical qualifications for truck drivers as per regulations.
  • Strong oral communication skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent customer service and time-management skills.
  • Proven driving record.
  • Ability to lift weights ranging from 25 to over 100 lbs. as required.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Capability to perform physical tasks including climbing, balancing, kneeling, and frequent bending.
  • Must operate in a drug-free environment.
