About the Role:
The General Manager is the face of Tatte within our communities and to our guests. This role is responsible for all facets of front-of-house café operations dedicated to delivering a warm, authentic and inspiring environment for both guests and team members, to thoughtful leadership, and to overall restaurant performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate complete ownership of the business, including total responsibility for the four walls and P&L ownership.
- Model an authentic, warm guest experience and be responsible for instilling great service into the team.
- Ensure the café is optimally staffed with individuals that embody Tatte's values.
- Demonstrate keen people performance management skills with the ability to identify talent and develop managers and hourly team members.
- Display skill in leading and navigating hard conversations.
- Continuously uphold Tatte brand and visual standards.
- Lead team members through effective and efficient operational execution.
- Ensure Food Safety in the café.
- Lead all café-level change management activities to ensure effective and accurate communication of new product, service and operational information that is able to be acted upon by the team.
- Ensure food, labor and controllable costs stay consistently within guardrails set by the company.
- Oversee all café administrative requirements.
Working Conditions / Essential Functions:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs (including days, evenings, weekends, and as emergencies arise).
- Able to work ten hour-plus shifts, plus ability to stand, sit, squat or walk for extended periods of time, walk up and down stairs, and read.
- Able to grasp, reach overhead, push, lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' experience working as a General Manager, preferably in a high-volume, full service and/or polished fast casual restaurant.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- High integrity and professionalism.
- High School education or equivalent.
Preferred Skills:
- Hospitality Education: B.S. in Hospitality Management and/or A.S. Hotel and Restaurant Management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Previous experience working with UltiPro, Toast - POS System, CrunchTime/TeamworX.
- ServSafe, Allergen and ChokeSaver Certifications.
