MARS Inc is seeking a dedicated Senior Automation Technician to join our innovative manufacturing team. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the effective, safe, and dependable operation of manufacturing control and electrical systems.
- Utilize your multi-disciplinary skills to manage, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical power systems, instrumentation, motor controls, PLCs, HMIs, data systems, and factory control infrastructure.
- Lead the modification and installation of control systems while facilitating knowledge transfer related to electrical projects.
- Independently identify, prioritize, plan, and execute daily tasks with minimal supervision.
- Support the technical development of fellow Controls Technicians.
Specific Duties:
- Recommend enhancements to optimize plant performance using existing or new control systems.
- Modify PLC logic and HMI programs to enhance equipment functionality.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures using control system knowledge and various diagnostic tools.
- Provide training and support to technicians in the repair and commissioning of electrical control devices.
- Act as a technical advisor for operations and maintenance teams on controls-related challenges.
- Monitor and execute KPIs related to Factory Controls and IT infrastructure.
- Develop documentation, job aids, and training materials for automation systems.
- Oversee the implementation of Factory Controls and IT projects.
- Supervise external contractors and technicians during the installation of control systems.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Department to identify and implement improvements.
- Participate in regional and global Factory Controls projects as needed.
- Manage engineering projects by overseeing control system design.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Associate's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Controls, or Automation Technology, or equivalent experience.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Factory Controls and IT, including troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Ability to obtain an Operational Electrical Qualification Certificate.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Controls, or Automation).
- Extensive experience in Factory Controls and IT.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with server and virtual infrastructure administration.
- Familiarity with database management and automation software.
- Understanding of AutoCAD and SolidWorks PDM.
- Strong grasp of networking and interfacing with various control devices.
