Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling services to students, addressing a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues.
  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with students, taking into account their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to provide consultation and support on student-related issues, promoting a safe and inclusive campus environment.
  • Develop and implement psychoeducational programs and workshops, focusing on topics such as stress management, mindfulness, and cultural competence.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in mental health counseling and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Requirements
  • Counseling credential/license (e.g., LPC, LMFT, LCSW)
  • PhD/PsyD in Psychology or related field (or MSW with LICSW)
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure within 12 months of start date
  • Exceptional skills in working with diverse students, including those from underrepresented groups
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Preferred qualifications: experience in a university counseling center, multilingual counseling skills, and expertise in trauma-informed care
