Position Overview
As the Manufacturing Operations Manager, you will oversee all facets of a manufacturing department, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, productivity, cost management, and organizational culture in line with established protocols and customer expectations. This role typically operates within medium-sized facilities and may supervise up to 75 hourly employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion safety initiatives, collaborating with the EHS Manager to implement and uphold policies that foster a secure working environment.
- Develop, communicate, and enforce standards for safety, quality, waste reduction, and productivity to achieve plant objectives. Maintain departmental cleanliness in accordance with 5S and GMP standards.
- Manage the Performance Control System (PCS) for the department, including the establishment of key performance indicators (KPIs), auditing team meetings, and leading departmental discussions.
- Collaborate with the Plant Leadership team to identify and pursue continuous improvement opportunities within the department.
- Provide constructive feedback to employees regarding their performance relative to established standards.
- Supervise a team of Shift Supervisors, handling all aspects of management including recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and employee relations.
- Ensure representation on Best Practice teams related to process discipline and implement changes based on their recommendations.
- Conduct thorough investigations for any workplace incidents and ensure timely completion of follow-up actions.
- Recommend capital projects, documenting needs, ROI, and KPIs as per Amcor policies.
- Address customer complaints promptly, implementing corrective actions and evaluating their effectiveness.
- Ensure accurate Standard Operating Conditions (SOCs) are established and adhered to, maintaining productivity standards.
- Promote a robust safety culture within the department.
- Align with Amcor values and contribute to a high-performance culture.
- Achieve or exceed plant business objectives and KPIs while operating within budget constraints.
- Implement best practices for efficient resource planning and utilization.

- A Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- A minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
