Corporate Counsel Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced in-house lawyer to join our legal team at Comrise. The ideal candidate will be a generalist with a strong background in manufacturing operations and a proven track record of providing sound legal advice.

The successful candidate will have a J.D. from a reputable law school, strong academic credentials, and 7+ years of legal experience, including a combination of large law firm and in-house experience. They will also possess a demonstrated ability to effectively provide legal advice, exercise good business judgment, and work with senior management, outside counsel, and vendors.

The role involves supporting the utility-scale battery energy storage manufacturing operations, including advising on commercial transactions, managing corporate housekeeping, and working closely with internal and external trade compliance professionals.

The ideal candidate will have a team-first attitude, excellent communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to lead and drive innovation within the legal department and in concert with commercial leaders to achieve the company's goals.

This is a full-time position, and the candidate will be required to travel on occasion to meet legal and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise and assist on commercial transactions for the manufacturing business, including real estate and construction contracts, vendor agreements, and supply chain-related agreements.
  • Manage corporate housekeeping for the US battery energy storage manufacturing subsidiary.
  • Work closely with internal and external trade compliance professionals to ensure that components and raw materials can be timely imported and that issues that arise are effectively addressed.
  • Work with internal regulatory and EHS compliance teams to develop legal policies, processes, and procedures for the US manufacturing business.
  • Provide proactive, timely, and effective legal advice and analysis relating to risks faced by the business.
  • Coordinate and supervise outside counsel on an as-needed basis and with a view to balancing legal costs with business goals.
  • Ensure that all activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with our policies, code, and procedures.
