Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Executing complex engineering tasks with sound judgment in the selection and adaptation of standard engineering methodologies.
  • Independently managing the control systems design team throughout the design and documentation phases of projects, while also identifying opportunities for additional design and integration work.
  • Leading the evaluation and planning of enhancements to control systems.
  • Facilitating meetings and engaging in reviews with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Coordinating project workload during design and construction documentation phases to meet deadlines.
  • Overseeing the creation of preliminary engineering reports and studies aimed at recommending and developing solutions for facility and process control systems.
  • Serving as the Engineer of Record, ensuring the development of accurate and biddable SCADA/I&C construction documents.
  • Integrating I&C systems, including programming PLCs/PCs and customizing HMIs for various control software applications.
  • Drafting and refining I&C specifications, and selecting appropriate equipment and monitoring/control devices.
  • Collaborating with clients and marketing teams during joint scoping and proposal development.
  • Contributing to the planning and specification of technology solutions, including instrumentation and control, advanced automation, artificial intelligence, Operational Technology (OT) networking, data management & analytics, augmented reality, and vision control.
  • Reviewing electrical documentation for potential conflicts across all disciplines.
  • Coordinating with and assisting other disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders, ensuring agreed-upon modifications are incorporated into project documents.
  • Providing construction contract administration as necessary.
  • Conducting QA/QC on the work of other I&C Project Engineers, Coordinators, or Technicians as required.
  • Performing additional duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with advanced control systems topics, including data management, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, and network architecture.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Proven leadership and project management capabilities.
  • Experience in automation programming.
  • Expertise in designing control systems.
  • Experience managing control systems projects.
  • Knowledge of automation hardware, including but not limited to Allen-Bradley, Emerson, Foxboro, Modicon, Siemens, and GE.
  • Familiarity with automation software, including but not limited to Wonderware, iFix, FactoryTalk, VTScada, and Ignition.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
