As a key member of the Tulane University Medical Group, the Medical Billing and Claims Analyst II plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely reimbursement for medical services provided to patients. This position involves collaborating with various departments within the organization to facilitate effective billing and collection processes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting initial billing and follow-up on claims to ensure resolution of rejected claims and claim edits.
  • Managing special accounts and keeping management informed of trends, updates, and urgent issues.
  • Supporting the billing and collection efforts under the guidance of supervisory staff.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • In-depth understanding of governmental billing regulations and third-party billing practices.
  • Proficient in using personal computers and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously while meeting deadlines.
  • Well-honed judgment and decision-making capabilities.

Required Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a physician's billing office.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with group medical practice operations.
  • Experience in data compilation and analysis.
  • Knowledge of IDX physician billing software is highly advantageous.

Compensation Information:
