Position Overview:
This role may be filled as a Financial Analyst II, III, or Lead, contingent upon the qualifications of the selected candidate.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Financial Analyst is responsible for overseeing, managing, and executing essential financial and operational tasks while engaging in reporting activities.

This position supports Entergy's Finance division by contributing to budgeting, reporting, and control processes, while also identifying critical issues that could affect profitability.

The analyst will participate in process enhancement initiatives and perform ad hoc reporting, analysis, and financial modeling to meet business requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develops financial models or analyses as required and articulates the findings.
  • Identifies and implements necessary updates to models and associated systems, ensuring accuracy in documentation and model outputs.
  • Proposes and executes process improvements to enhance team efficiency.
  • Effectively communicates issues to colleagues and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with various departments to gather insights on Entergy's operations and transactions, and engages with subject matter experts to evaluate the risks associated with specific projects or investments.
  • Works alongside business units to analyze industry trends, commodity pricing, regulatory strategies, and prepares financial comparative data to support decision-making.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred:
MBA.

Experience:
Financial Analyst II: 2-4 years in banking, finance, project development, or related sectors.
Financial Analyst III: 3-5 years in banking, finance, project development, or related sectors.
Financial Analyst Lead: 5+ years in banking, finance, project development, or related sectors.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong analytical skills to identify problems and devise solutions.
In-depth understanding of financial theory and valuation principles.
Capability to comprehend and resolve complex financial transactions.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive projects effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Basic knowledge of financial theory and valuation principles.

Certifications:
Preferred:
CPA, CFA, PE, or similar professional certifications.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

As a provider of essential services, Entergy expects its employees to be available for additional hours, work in alternate locations, and/or undertake additional responsibilities during storms, outages, emergencies, or other situations deemed necessary by the company.

Exempt employees may not receive overtime compensation for such duties.
