Position Overview:
The selected candidate will take on a pivotal role in:

- Designing optical systems and conducting thorough analyses and testing of intricate optical configurations within Electro-Optical (EO) systems, with a focus on military applications such as fire control, missile guidance, and laser technologies.

- Engaging in research and development activities related to optical system concepts, layouts, and detailed designs, leveraging expertise in both geometrical and physical optics.

- Applying research findings to optimize hardware performance and initiating or supporting manufacturing processes aimed at enhancing producibility and achieving cost efficiencies.

- Maintaining and updating the overall optical prescription and tolerance analyses of the system as necessary.


Essential Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Optical Engineering from an accredited institution is mandatory.
- Must possess the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Skills:
- Knowledgeable in lens materials, window coatings, and the fabrication of optical components.
- Experienced in the assembly of lenses and windows, as well as in evaluating the performance of optical systems through testing.

- Capable of collaborating effectively within multi-disciplinary engineering teams, including mechanical, opto-mechanical, electrical, thermal, structural, aerodynamic, software, system, and test engineers.

- Proficient in using lens and optical design software tools.

- Familiar with the development of infrared missile seekers, covering aspects from design and assembly to integration, performance testing, environmental assessments, hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) testing, and flight evaluations.

- Knowledgeable about cryo-cooled and uncooled detector technologies and gimbal system design and performance.

- Experienced in thermal, structural, and aerodynamic modeling and simulation, as well as multi-physics tools.


Security Clearance Requirement:
This role necessitates a government security clearance; candidates must be U.S. Citizens to be considered.

Work Environment:

The individual selected for this position will have a hybrid work schedule, balancing remote work with on-site responsibilities at a designated facility.

Work Schedule:
4x10 hour days with 3 days off each week.
