Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) Professional Development Program (PDP) as a Financial Specialist. As a recent graduate, you will have the chance to develop your skills and knowledge in financial management, working with seasoned professionals and participating in on-the-job training and developmental assignments. You will be responsible for assisting in financial management state systems and processes, contributing to financial state systems and processes, and providing technical resource on FHWA procedures and guidance on financial considerations applicable to the Federal Aid Highway Program or Federal Lands Program.

About the Position

The PDP is an entry-level/new employee program designed to introduce participants to the technical, administrative, and program management aspects of administering the Federal-aid Highway and Federal Lands Highway Programs. As a Financial Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of experienced professionals, learn from them, and contribute to the success of the program. You will be responsible for completing three major components: on-the-job training, developmental assignments, and several required training activities. You will also have the chance to participate in experiential learning in both FHWA's Federal-aid and Federal Lands Highway Division Offices, where you will receive on-the-job training through a structured set of learning experiences described in a development plan.
