Job Title: Consumer Service Specialist

Join the State of Alaska in a dynamic role as a Consumer Service Specialist, where you will play a crucial part in ensuring the protection of Alaskan consumers. As a key member of the Division of Insurance, you will be responsible for conducting complaint reviews, providing information and resources to the public, and facilitating final-level health insurance appeals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct complaint reviews for all regulated lines of insurance in Alaska to determine if violations of Alaska Insurance law have occurred.
  • Respond to insurance-related questions and concerns by providing applicable referrals and resources to the public.
  • Facilitate final-level health insurance appeals.

Requirements:
  • Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in analytical thinking, customer service, insurance, oral and written communication, and reading comprehension.
  • Equivalent to those typically gained by experience in administrative or regulatory law or a related field performing technical research or evaluation of statutes or regulations.
