Job Summary

South East Alaska Regional Health Consortium is seeking a highly skilled Financial Services Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing and reimbursement for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Validate changes and billing information to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay current on changing payor-specific charging and billing rules to ensure seamless reimbursement.
  • Assist with special projects related to billing and reimbursement, including rebill projects.
  • Identify, analyze, and reconcile billing errors or omissions to minimize financial losses.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, answering questions and resolving issues related to billing and reimbursement.
  • Collaborate with financial counselors to identify alternative funding sources for patients and ensure timely payment.
  • Reconcile payments and logs all transactions posted to the organization's bank account into the cash log.
  • Communicate effectively with the cash posting team to ensure timely and accurate processing of funds.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Two years of experience in billing, collections, and/or cash posting required.
  • Certified CRCR (HFMA-Medical), CRCS (AAHAM-Medical), or CDBS (ADCA-Dental) certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of hospital or clinic billing and follow-up, medical terminology, and payor remittances.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and detail-oriented skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
