Job Overview

Position Title: Senior Intelligence Analyst


Role Summary:
This role is designed to integrate essential counterterrorism and criminal intelligence assets from various levels of government and private sectors to enhance information gathering, prioritization, classification, analysis, and dissemination. The aim is to strengthen defenses against potential terrorist and criminal threats. Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain a Secret level national security clearance.


Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will assist law enforcement operations, foster collaborative partnerships, and develop intelligence reports and presentations for the relevant region. Responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating the transfer of intelligence related to criminal activities, terrorism, cyber threats, and critical infrastructure among fusion centers and law enforcement entities.
  • Conducting thorough analysis of complex data to identify trends and patterns pertinent to the region.
  • Preparing detailed reports and engaging in research projects on issues related to crime, terrorism, homeland security, and cyber threats.
  • Performing database inquiries and delivering analyzed findings promptly.
  • Creating comprehensive intelligence products concerning criminal behavior, terrorism, cyber threats, or critical infrastructure.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Certification in basic intelligence analysis as recognized by FEMA's Homeland Security Grant Program.
  • Experience or knowledge in areas such as terrorism, behavioral threat assessment, organized crime, cyber security, or counterintelligence.
  • Proficient understanding of research and analytical methodologies.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, summarize, interpret, and effectively communicate information and technical data both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong skills in using personal computers, Microsoft Office, and analytical software for creating GIS-based maps, tables, graphs, and charts.
  • Familiarity with open-source research and analytical tools.
  • Experience with tools such as Penlink, SyncArena, ArcGIS, i2 Analyst Notebook, and Trapwire is advantageous.
  • Capability to apply critical thinking to diverse data sets and generate logical analyses and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain organized records, manage multiple tasks, and follow instructions accurately.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across various levels of personnel and agencies.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and achieve high-quality results with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in delivering intelligence briefings to diverse audiences.
  • A degree in social sciences, government, business, or criminal justice, or relevant analytical experience.
  • Experience in public safety or governmental roles is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and successfully complete a background check, including fingerprinting and drug screening.
  • Must be able to obtain and/or maintain a national security clearance at the Secret level.

Work Schedule:

  • Availability for an 8-hour shift between 0600 and 1800 hours, Monday through Friday.
  • Flexibility to work adjusted hours during weekends or evenings for special events and critical incidents as required.
  • Full-time commitment of 40 hours per week, with telework options available on a case-by-case basis.
  • Participation in an on-call rotation for after-hours critical incident response.
  • Adherence to all relevant policies and procedures.
