Position Overview

The Capital Area Division (CAD) of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a skilled Comprehensive Intelligence Analyst with a proven track record in utilizing diverse intelligence and information sources to evaluate, interpret, predict, and elucidate various national security matters and developments that may be regional or functional in scope. This role entails providing all-source analytic assistance to Defense, Service, and military clientele in alignment with defense intelligence priorities, requirements, and directives.

This position plays a crucial role in contributing to Defense Intelligence Enterprise outputs, which include foundational assessments, warning reports, technical briefings, and other analytic documents. The analyst will work collaboratively with the Intelligence Community, Defense Department, national laboratories, and academic institutions to tackle a range of foreign adversary and threat-related challenges. The Comprehensive Intelligence Analyst will mentor junior staff, assess the work of peers, and make authoritative contributions to multi-disciplinary analytic teams. The role requires a solid understanding of official government analytic positions to effectively engage with customers and represent Defense Intelligence Enterprise analytic units as necessary.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with substantial intelligence analysis experience.
  • Over 5 years of experience in intelligence analysis, particularly in utilizing multi-INT databases for developing analytic assessments and presentations.
  • Familiarity with established Intelligence Community directives, standards, and tradecraft.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within or lead a team, coupled with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Capability to convey complex analyses in a manner that is accessible to diverse military audiences and senior government officials.
  • Proficient in articulating technical analysis results and program characterizations in writing.
  • Understanding of intelligence cycle processes and the ability to enhance its functioning through tailored all-source support.
  • Experience in providing all-source intelligence support for military planning, operations, and exercises.
  • Knowledge of the Defense Intelligence Enterprise, DIA, and Service intelligence production centers.
  • Experience in responding to and effectively addressing requests for intelligence/information (RFI).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree and/or specialized training related to the Intelligence Community.
  • Military or defense-related experience with a working knowledge of strategies, policies, and plans aimed at countering CBRN threats and preventing WMD proliferation.
  • Experience in developing, applying, and communicating methodological approaches to complex problems.
  • Knowledge of state nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) programs, strategic weapons developments, and WMD-related proliferation and procurement.
  • Proficiency with network analysis tools (e.g., Analyst Notebook, Palantir) and methodologies.
