Director of Billing and Collections

The Director of Billing and Collections is a key member of the Woods Rogers team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Firm's billing and collections processes. This role requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as a deep understanding of billing software platforms and financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage the billing and collections team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Work directly with 3E partners and internal billing team throughout software implementation and ongoing needs.
- Participate in trainings and meetings regarding 3E and e-billing Hub software.
- Oversee all billing processes for the Firm, including the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure accurate and efficient generation and delivery of invoices and the tracking and collections of outstanding balances.
- Provide guidance and support to team members on complex billing issues.
- Communicate effectively with billing coordinators and client representatives to address questions, resolve billing setup issues and appeals, and ensure client satisfaction.
- Monitor and manage billing systems and software, ensuring they are up-to-date and functioning properly.
- Conduct analysis of recurring billing issues and implement corrective actions.
- Provide training and support to attorneys, staff, and billing personnel on billing processes, software usage, and compliance with client billing guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal departments to streamline the billing workflow and resolve any billing-related issues efficiently.
- Three (3) years of experience managing a team of billers in a law firm.
- High proficiency in billing software platforms, specifically Elite 3E (cloud-based) and eBilling Hub.
- Proven ability to manage a team and help others develop new skills.
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and projects and see them through to their completion.
- Ability to resolve problems and concerns with a high level of professionalism.
- Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, employees, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to use data to monitor and manage resources and workload. Skilled in using data to report on output, performance and process efficiency.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive client information.
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service and representing the Firm in a professional and courteous manner.
