Key Responsibilities

  • Update registration discrepancies and communicate with staff as needed
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless patient access
  • Conduct pre-registration and insurance verification for CHKDHS services
  • Provide coverage to assigned registration locations as needed
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Three to five years of related work experience preferred
  • Minimum twelve months of medical billing and follow-up experience in a hospital patient account department, physician office, or medical services organization
  • Familiarity with ICD-9/CPT coding, third-party payer insurance verification processes, and medical terminology
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Working Conditions

The Patient Access Technician will work in a normal office environment with occasional exposure to communicable disease and moderately adverse working conditions.
