Human Resource Specialist Summary: The Human Resources Specialist works closely with the HR team to administer human resources functions and activities for Pompeian. Specifically, the HR professional will assist the Operations teams, provide guidance to plant leaders, contribute to the objectives of the organization, and support our frontline workforce. This role will lead or assist with initiatives that drive employee engagement, talent acquisition and retention, performance, and work culture. This position will report to the Human Resources Manager. This full-time role is on site at Pompeian HQ at 4201 Pulaski Highway in Baltimore. Typical hours are Monday through Friday from 9:15 am to 6:00 pm. The candidate must be flexible to meet the needs of the business, running 24/7 where applicable.    Human Resource Specialist Requirements:    Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field required  Two to four years of related human resources experience, with at least one year as an HR Generalist preferred  Human Resources certification is a plus  Previous payroll experience preferred  Excellent verbal and written communication skills  Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills  Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail  Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines  Human Resource Specialist will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and can prioritize tasks   Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality  Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations  Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software  Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems   Human Resource Specialist Pay and Benefits:  Salary range is 70-75K with opportunities for advancement available

  Opportunity to work with a Top 2023 Workplace in manufacturing, compensation & benefits and one of Maryland healthiest business   Human Resource Specialist Responsibilities:    Perform tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, employee recognition, employee morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development  Lead the onboarding and new hire orientation process  Process new hire paperwork, employment changes, terminations, and respond to requests for employee information from outside agencies  Assist with all aspects of recruitment as needed, including creating and sending out offer letters  Assist and administer Payroll preparation and processing for all employees  Lead and maintain all current safety programs and documentation systems on an ongoing basis while implementing new suggestions and initiatives  Review company training needs; modify or improve existing programs or develop new training programs to meet those needs  Review, track, present, and lead the documentation of compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training  Create and/or administer post-training evaluation and assessments   Participate in Pompeian’s ERG programs and assist with planning & executing company cultural events   Track HR KPI’s on an ongoing basis and evaluate focus areas   Facilitate communication between employees and management in a timely and confidential manner  Assist in resolving conflicts and mediating disputes when necessary  Respond to and educate all staff regarding employment policies and procedures  Review personnel files to assist in decision making with regards to employee disciplinary action, rehire eligibility, and promotional opportunities with regards to performance and discipline practices  Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff  Lead and monitor Worker’s Compensation case management with all internal team members and external vendors  Maintain OSHA log and records to prepare the annual OSHA 300 reports  Review, maintain and ensure compliance with applicable Federal & State employment laws  Conduct exit and stay interviews with employees  Administer medical leave programs (FMLA, ADA, STD)  Maintain HRIS and employee personnel files on an ongoing basis while providing ongoing support to human resources department as needed  Ensure all work and projects comply with environmental guidelines and company environmental goals and standards   Perform duties and tasks per Pompeian’s mission, goals and core values   All other duties and tasks assigned   About us: The Olive Oil People – is America's largest national brand of olive oil, bestselling vinegars and a variety of cooking sprays.
