Join our team As a Systems Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify and improve cutting edge products and services. You'll be developing complex system architectures within contextual modeling platforms, ushering them from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and test using progressive tools. As a cross-functional engineer, you are in charge of system-level ownership of new products and processes through the product lifecycle.The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber. Learn more about MST Must-haves:Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experiencePractical knowledge of design, implementation, and maintenance of complex systems in a digital engineering environment (i.e., MBSE and digital twin)Practical knowledge of design and document configuration managementPractical knowledge of industry-standard systems engineering and modelling tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, EnterpriseArchitect, etc.Experience creating and maintaining system requirement specifications Experience performing gap analysis of system/sub-system requirement specificationsExperience performing impact analysis of proposed changes to system/sub-system requirement specificationsExperience in system validation (including creation of validation plans, and definition and evaluation of validation procedures)Experience verifying system requirements (including creation of verification plans, and definition and evaluation of verification cases and procedures)Experience working in a highly-collaborative multi-disciplinary teamDemonstrated ability to lead development efforts of moderate complexityExperience mentoring junior team membersStrong organization skills and work ethicPreferred:Familiarity and/or experience of system safety process to identify potential system safety risks and mitigations, such as MIL-STD-882\ARP-4761Familiarity and/or experience of system cybersecurity risk management framework/process to identify potential system risks and mitigations per DoDI 8500.01Familiarity and/or experience establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM)Familiarity and/or experience with software development methodologies such as Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, and SpiralFamiliarity and/or experience with industry-standard systems engineering and modeling languages such as SysML, UML, ADL, etc.Familiarity and/or experience with industry-standard systems engineering and modeling tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody, NoMagic, MATLAB, and SimulinkFamiliarity and/or experience with INCOSE StandardsINCOSE Professional CertificationBackground in the Aerospace and Defense IndustryAt Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) we deliver customer-focused technology and best-of-breed integrations in the aerospace and defense sectors.
