Position purpose: This position leads, coaches and manages a team who is responsible for attracting students and guests, delivering exceptional education, and providing guest services that result in students becoming professionals for the beauty industry, while achieving required overall key performance indicators.

Responsibilities:

  • Train, motivate and evaluate team members with positive feedback and performance expectations in alignment with the Aveda Institute culture.
  • Develop and manage team schedule that effectively accommodates guests and students, while remaining within allocated payroll budget.
  • Collaborate with the Admissions Representatives to ensure student recruiting and educational goals are being met.
  • Collaborate with the Admissions Representatives to plan career fairs and Industry Day events.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with Federal, State and local laws.
  • Work closely with the Admissions and Financial Aid departments to ensure compliance and that student needs are being met.
  • Ensure student outcomes (completion, licensure and placement) exceed Institute benchmarks.
  • Source and select new team members, utilizing effective techniques that attract top talent.
  • Plan and implement effective training programs and provide continued development to for Team Members.
  • Organize and facilitate monthly team meetings, daily & weekly huddles, one-on-one team member meetings, and training as required.
  • Complete administrative duties and weekly/monthly reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maximize profit by managing expenses within fiscal guidelines (budget), including operating expenses and payroll.
  • Ensure systems, processes and policies are implemented consistently.
  • Attend meetings as required, which may involve travel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience in the areas of vocation education and management of salons preferred.
  • Demonstrated time management skills including the ability to organize and manage multiple projects.
  • Must be analytical and have the ability to see problems and solutions from multiple angles.
  • Must have the ability to plan in advance.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled in working with diverse populations.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Commitment to company mission and vision.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Willing to travel and work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; articulate in English.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Detail oriented.
