The University of New Mexico is seeking highly qualified forensic pathologists to join our team in the Office of the Medical Investigator. As a forensic pathologist at UNM, you will be part of a cohesive team of board-certified forensic pathologists, forensic anthropologists, a forensic odontologist, neuropathologists, pathologist's assistants, and pathology and radiology consults.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct autopsies and external examinations to determine cause and manner of death
- Investigate deaths and prepare reports for law enforcement and other agencies
- Collaborate with other forensic experts to provide comprehensive death investigation services
- Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the Office of the Medical Investigator
- Provide education and training to pathology residents and medical students
- M.D. or equivalent degree
- Board certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology and Forensic Pathology
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Experience or training in a subspecialty of medicine, pathology, or science applicable to forensic pathology
