OVERVIEW

USCRI manages a Reception and Placement (R&P) program across the U.S. through a cooperative agreement with the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (PRM), U.S. Department of State, The R&P program assists newly resettled refugees in the Unites States and helps them secure early economic self-sufficiency and successfully integrate into American society. The Program Officer – Compliance will serve as a technical assistance adviser to network offices, specifically on following up on findings and recommendations from monitoring visits by PRM or USCRI, to ensure compliance with grant requirements and excellence in service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review the findings and recommendations in monitoring reports by PRM and USCRI and support network offices in responding through the development of action plans.
  • Ensure the implementation and completion of these action plans, including through subsequent desk monitoring of network offices and provision of training.
  • Track and respond to grievances regarding network offices, and ensure appropriate action, reporting to PRM as required.
  • Create and maintain outreach materials and guides for use by the USCRI network as appropriate and lead working group calls and facilitate the sharing of best practices and cross-site collaboration.
  • Develop relationships with partner agencies, government agencies, and other stakeholders and maintain up to date information on practices, innovations, and challenges across USCRI’s resettlement network.
  • Represent USCRI on relevant working groups and other relevant meetings with US Government and technical assistance providers.
  • Travel to USCRI network offices to provide technical assistance and monitor for program compliance as needed.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Master's degree in related field with at least two years of experience in a related field OR a Bachelor’s degree with at least three years’ experience in related fields;
  • Experience working with refugee-serving programs and/or related programs aiming to increase access to critical resources for immigrant and underserved populations preferred, and demonstrated knowledge and experience of immigrant needs and services, preferred;
  • Experience providing training and technical assistance preferred;
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically proficiency with Word, Power Point and Excel;
  • Ability to work both as a team member and independently, with a high level of self-motivation,
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with USCRI affiliates, national partners, and funders;
  • Highly adaptable and flexible with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment;
  • Ability to travel domestically, several times per year; and
  • Demonstrated support of USCRI’s values by exhibiting respect for others, maintenance of confidential information, an appreciation of a multicultural workplace, and a dedication to human rights, including of trafficking victims, refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and vulnerable or disenfranchised populations.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
  • Satisfactory completion of USCRI’s Orientation and Training; and
  • Complete additional training as identified by supervisor or Human Resources.
