What You'll Do:

  • Lead and manage student conduct cases across all IRSC campuses.
  • Conduct intake, investigation, evaluation, and adjudication of conduct complaints.
  • Coordinate and participate in Behavioral Assessment Review Team meetings.
  • Serve as a resource and advocate for student conduct matters within the IRSC community.
  • Provide support, training, and outreach through educational workshops on student conduct policies.
  • Act as the Student Ombudsman and Advocate, ensuring student awareness and adherence to community standards.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under minimal direction, this position, implements and administrates student conduct program, supports the Associate Vice President in the student disciplinary process in compliance with IRSC student conduct standards, and supports student awareness about student conduct and community standards for all IRSC campuses. Supports the adjudication of informal and formal resolutions and administrative hearings. Commits to a non-adversarial, educational, and learning-based conduct philosophy.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates and monitors college-wide student conduct cases through the Office of Student Life. Leads the intake, investigation, evaluation, and adjudication of complaints and allegations of violations of the student code of conduct in compliance with the established IRSC protocols. Serves as a member of the Office of Student Life as an administrative hearing appointee/officer in non-academic conduct cases. Coordinates the Behavioral Assessment Review Team meetings, and completes administrative functions associated with this role. 50%
  • Serves as a resource on IRSC student conduct matters to the IRSC community. Provides support, training, and outreach for educational workshops to all campus constituency groups about student conduct policies and procedures. Participates and provides input in review of the Student Handbook. Keeps apprised of current trends and professional practices on Student Conduct to improve programming at IRSC. Serves as the Student Ombudsman and Advocate. 40%
  • Completes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 10%

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with at least 2 years of full-time professional work education or a related field.
  • Knowledge in fundamental aspects of college student development and behavior.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, apply, and explain policies and procedures.
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with diverse groups of institutional constituents.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergencies.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Skills in using logic and reasoning to problem solve.
  • Experience working with technology applications and databases, creating reports that reflect relevant data.
  • Valid Florida driver's license.
  • Knowledge of student engagement methods and online methodology.
  • Skill in organizing, time management, and prioritizing.
  • Skill in working with Microsoft Office and Windows based applications.
  • Ability to be accurate, pay attention to details, be people oriented, multi-task, work independently as well as with others, and be self-motivated.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as light work involving lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may be very little, a job is in this category when it requires a good deal of walking or standing, or when it involves sitting most of the time with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls. To be considered capable of performing a full or wide range of light work, you must have the ability to do substantially all of these activities. If someone can do light work, we determine that he or she can also do sedentary work, unless there are additional limiting factors such as loss of fine dexterity or inability to sit for long periods of time.
