Job Description
- Develop, implement, analyze, and drive accountability of the Vulcan Baltimore location’s EHS initiatives and programs. Liaise as required with the Corporate EHS Team to ensure consistency with Enterprise initiatives and policies.
- Foster an environment that encourages superior Safety Awareness and Environmental Stewardship through the implementation and support of safety & environmental management processes.
- Collaborate with site Engineering & Operations teams in proactive identification and reduction of EHS risk.
- Investigate any safety incidents, provide root cause analysis, and set plans to address improvement opportunities.
- Lead and refine the safety committee, safety audit process, reporting, and develop action items to drive improved safety culture.
- Develop and lead factory safety trainings.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years’ experience in Safety/Quality processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the clear and concise transfer of information with all levels of employees, both internally and externally.
- Ability to identify, define, analyze, and prioritize opportunities and problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and solve problems efficiently.
- Capacity to maintain a level of confidentiality required.
- Computer literacy and organization skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently/independently with minimal supervision.
- Manufacturing experience preferred
Additional Information
Physical Demands
- Must be able to stand or walk
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, reach and twist to complete all job tasks.
- Must be able to wear all required PPE (i.e., safety glasses, gloves, steel/composite toe safety shoes)
Working Conditions
- Combination - industrial plant floor and in office.
