Energy Efficiency Program Intern

Willdan Lighting and Electric (WLE), a subsidiary of Willdan, has an opening for an intern in our New York, NY office. The individual must be able to work in a collaborative environment with our engineering staff, program managers and sales team to develop energy savings solutions, conduct site visits and verify energy savings for our customers. The duration of this internship is 10 weeks and set to end on October 4th.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collect and evaluate project documentation such as utility bills, as-built drawings, utility incentive documents, multifamily property information, and other pertinent project information.
  • Conduct site visits or desk review to identify and/or confirm potential electric and gas conservation measures.
  • Identify and estimate applicable energy efficiency incentives.
  • Use effective writing and verbal skills to deliver high quality reports.
  • Work with Contractors and Customers of the utility incentive programs.
Job Requirements / Qualifications
  • Current college students or recent college graduates (in the last two years) from a New York State University with a major of Engineering and/or Sustainability.
  • Some experience in energy efficiency, facility design/build, and/or performance contracting.
  • Ability to perform the responsibilities required for this position, as listed above.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with our clients and work collaboratively with our engineering staff, program mangers and sales team.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks across multiple projects.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel.
  • Ability to travel to the Manhattan office.
  • Some on-site travel may be required.
