POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resources Coordinator acts as the Division or Business Unit point of contact for all human resource related questions and information. The Human Resources Coordinator works closely with and assists the Division Human Resources Manager with a variety of human resources issues including, but not limited to, employee relations, employee development, benefits, employee onboarding, and data tracking and reporting.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinates with division operations and corporate/regional/area human resources staff regarding all employment activity (i.e., hiring, employee relations, compliance, terminations, etc.) within the division or business unit.
  • Provides job applicants with employment information and assists with review of information provided by applicants.
  • Assists new employees with new hire paperwork including but not limited to background checks, work authorization and relocation when applicable
  • Acts as the Division record keeper for EEO/Affirmative Action purposes.
  • Acts as the Division Benefits Point of Contact assisting employees with eligibility, new enrollment and claims issues. Maintains current knowledge of Company benefits.
  • Informs Division or Area Human Resources Manager of workplace or employee morale concerns, and other related issues.
  • Maintains all personnel and related employee data and files, such as, personal data; compensation, benefits, and tax data; attendance; performance reviews or evaluations; disciplinary actions; and terminations, in accordance with Company policies and procedures. Ensures all employee files are viewed only by authorized personnel and ensures files are kept confidential per Company policy and/or practice.
  • Coordinates drug testing policy to include pre-employment, random and for cause post-accident/post-injury testing.
  • Maintains accident, safety and driver certification files in accordance with Company policies and Federal regulations.
  • Schedules and coordinate logistics associated with events related to human resources activities such as special projects, employee engagement activities, training, and recruiting events.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
  • This position may require travel by air, car and/or other modes of transportation up to 60% of the time.


Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Office equipment including, but not limited to, computer, phone, fax machine, copier and calculator.
  • MS Office including Word and Excel.
  • Company information systems applications including payroll or applicable HRIS systems.
  • Ability to impact and influence all levels of the Company.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Minimum of 1 year administrative or Human Resources generalist experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources, including knowledge of employee benefits, and the employment process.
