Organizational Description:

Inneract Project is a nonprofit organization, founded in 2004, working to empower the next generation of  Black, Latinx, and underrepresented designers of color. Inneract Projects provides free design classes and initiatives that introduce students to the design field in hopes of channeling their creativity into exciting new career paths. IP  is committed to reshaping the design and tech industries so that more Black, Latinx, and underrepresented folks of color are present, empowered, and supported.

OVERVIEW

The Volunteer Event Engagement Coordinator helps ensure the successful execution of Inneract Project programs and events. This position involves various responsibilities related to event logistics, guest interactions, and overall event coordination.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Collaborate with the program team to ensure the accurate accounting of attendees before, during, and after the event
  • Safeguard the well-being of attendees throughout the event
  • Provide support by staying with students until they are safely picked up after the event unless otherwise notified

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Demonstrates strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  •  Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  •  Passionate for education, youth development, and social justice.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing event dynamics.
  • Previous experience in event coordination or volunteer management is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel within the Bay Area 

COMMITMENT/TERM 

This position requires a 7-month commitment for an average of 5+ hours per week, which will be completed in-person and remotely. Position commitment is subject to renewal and extension by agreement from both parties.
