Classification: Non-exempt/temp

This is a temporary, full-time position from October to February, with a Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule. The position is based at our headquarters in Missoula, MT.

Job Summary:

Responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Assists in all aspects of shipping, receiving merchandise, and supporting materials. This position is responsible for labeling and storing items in a manner conducive to effective and timely order fulfillment.

Essential Functions:

  1. Accurately pick, pack, and ship all items for various cost centers.
  2. Assist in sorting, organizing, and prioritizing all pick slips.
  3. Stock picking shelves and maintain the Distribution Center in proper working order with regard to packing materials and supplies needed to process shipments.
  4. Maintain a neat and orderly workplace.
  5. Ensure all items are clearly labeled and stored in the appropriate locations.
  6. Responsible for garbage, cardboard, and pallet disposal.
  7. Prepare all outbound pallets for RMEF events or shows.
  8. Assist with loading and unloading convention trucks.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  1. Knowledge and support of RMEF's mission, goals, programs, and activities.
  2. Knowledge of shipping procedures and techniques.
  3. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite software.
  4. Knowledge of operating a networked mailing system, copier, forklift, hand truck, scissor lift, and pallet jack.
  5. Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks, completing them under time constraints, working at a fast pace while remaining accurate.
  6. Knowledge of proper, safe work procedures in hazardous environments. Must be knowledgeable of OSHA regulations and requirements.
  7. Must be self-motivated and able to perform job duties with minimal supervision.
  8. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience:

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in warehouse shipping and receiving techniques is preferred.

Physical Demands: This position will involve lifting and moving heavy objects weighing up to 60 pounds. It will also require standing and walking for extended periods throughout the distribution center, office building, and various convention halls. Must remain alert and safety-focused at all times.
