Occupational Therapist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Glendive Medical Center in Glendive, Montana. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping patients reach their maximum performance level and function in their community.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and guide Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and students in patient treatment.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and document patient progress in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Provide consultation on environmental design, adaptive equipment, and patient positioning to prevent contractures.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records and reports.
  • Design and administer treatment programs to increase patient functioning.
  • Provide therapy for neurological integration, sensor-motor integration, and visual perceptual-motor remediation.
  • Design and fabricate splints as specified by doctors.
  • Administer treatment programs to traumatic brain-injured patients.
  • Provide prevention therapy to maintain functional skills.
  • Assess patients' organizational skills, attention spans, cognitive abilities, coordination, and adaptive-equipment needs.
  • Design home programs and instruct patients or families in carrying out such programs.
  • Participate in patient support groups with other team members.
Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Proficient with electronic medical record documentation or related software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with hospital and Rehabilitation staff.
  • Ability to use tools used to make adaptive equipment.
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy required.
  • Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association is required.
  • One year of experience is preferred.
  • Licensed within the State of Montana.
