We are seeking a Prevention and Outreach Coordinator to join our Sexual Assault Crisis Services program. This is a full time salaried position which includes a generous benefits package. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating outreach and prevention programming services for community agencies, partners, schools and organizations, as well as assisting with recruitment and training of volunteers and advocates. The Prevention and Outreach Coordinator will oversee and support advocates with outreach and prevention efforts for the agency. Salary: Biweekly plus stipend pay monthly for hotline shifts. Duties: Provide direct services including but not limited to medical, police and legal accompaniments, crisis counseling and group facilitation for survivors of sexual assault and their loved ones. Provide coverage for English 24-hour hotline, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Help when needed on the Spanish hotline if Spanish speaking. Assist Program Manager with coordination of Counselor/Advocate Volunteer program including recruiting, training, scheduling, supervision, and evaluation. Facilitate volunteer training virtually in person. Provide at least one in-person volunteer training annually. Oversee, organize, and participate in outreach and networking with community agencies, partners, schools and organizations, including representing the Sexual Assault Crisis Services program at relevant meetings. Present public and/or professional development training to facilitate increased knowledge, skills, and response capacity. Provide oversight and facilitate as needed the program's services to the community. Assist advocates in creation and implementation of prevention programs. Collect statistical data including participant demographics, and program effectiveness for all program prevention efforts. Assist in the development of education programs, volunteer training, and in-services. Assist Director and program manager in local legislation in relationship to sexual assault. Assist the Director in program development and operation. Assist Director in meeting progress reporting obligations. Maintain statistical records and prepare reports for counseling/advocacy services and assist director with grants and other administrative tasks as needed. Demonstrate knowledge of sexual abuse, statutes, and community resources. Participates in agency functions, such as fundraisers and community events. Provide coverage for 24-hour hotline, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays. Be willing to work out of all agency offices. Follow legal and ethical standards related to job responsibilities and uphold all obligations of mandated reporting. Actively participate in CT Alliance to End Sexual Violence MAC meetings Accept other responsibilities and additional projects related tasks as assigned Requirements: -Masters degree in human service discipline preferred OR five or more years of experience in a human service role. -One-year supervisory experience in prevention and/or community outreach or education field preferred. -Experience in counseling, public speaking, and/or outreach activities. -Experience in the field of sexual violence a plus. -Demonstrate flexibility to accommodate a rapidly changing environment. -Ability to work well with diverse populations required. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. -Must obtain and maintain certification as a Sexual Assault Crisis Counselor. -Must have available/reliable transportation during office hours and on-call shifts. -Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, disciplined self-starter. -Bilingual a plus.
