Role Summary:

The Healthy Communities initiative is a vital program aimed at fostering unity within at-risk populations while enhancing access to healthcare and support services through outreach and education. This program identifies the specific needs of diverse communities and formulates strategic approaches to meet those needs. The service provided directly addresses public health challenges in these communities, ensuring that healthcare and support services are readily available through adaptable service delivery methods.

As a Precision Medicine Community Educator, you will play a crucial role in the All of Us Research Program (AoURP), which is a nationally funded initiative focused on enrolling a diverse population in a comprehensive study that examines the impact of genetics, environment, and lifestyle on health. This program aims to equip researchers with valuable insights that may lead to personalized healthcare solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate monthly health education workshops for patients, ensuring the collection and analysis of feedback through surveys.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient engagement activities within electronic health systems.
  • Design and implement educational sessions, including interactive workshops for various age groups, to promote understanding of precision medicine.
  • Organize engaging social activities related to precision medicine, fostering community involvement.
  • Proactively recruit participants for AoURP events and activities.
  • Research and develop educational content for workshops and community events.
  • Create promotional materials for precision medicine initiatives and patient education.
  • Coordinate outreach efforts and participate in community events to raise awareness about precision medicine.
  • Deliver presentations to community partners to advocate for the importance of precision medicine.
  • Collaborate with local organizations to enhance community education on precision medicine.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss engagement strategies and evaluate the success of initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet applications.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to remain composed and effectively problem-solve in challenging situations.
  • Successful completion of required background checks.
  • Willingness to travel between various sites as needed.
  • Availability to work evenings or weekends occasionally for community events.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in public health or a related field.
  • Previous experience in healthcare settings.
