Job Description: MLee Healthcare is seeking a skilled ultrasound technologist to join a dynamic team in NY. The Ultrasound Technologist performs routine and some special procedure imaging, diagnostic and medical sonograms. Prepares patient for procedures. Assists Radiologists when needed. Prepares, operates and cares for the equipment being used. Develops/processes films when needed. Adheres to established radiology "standards of care". Obtains appropriate continuing education. Assumes responsibility for assigned area and duties. Adheres to outpatient facility-wide customer service programs. Performs other duties as assigned such as quality assurance. Exercises professional judgment in performance of procedures. Provides patient care.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Adheres to facility Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors. Prepares and positions patients accurately for examinations, ensuring compliance with specific protocols and proper documentation of images and body part questionnaires. Manages designated areas and procedures, producing high-quality technical images. Assists physicians during practice-based procedures as needed. Conducts equipment quality assurance, performs calibrations, and orders supplies as required. Available to work during emergencies or when departmental situations arise, including "on-call" duties at Armonk Urgi-Center and potentially at other outpatient sites during holidays, overtime, and various shifts to ensure adequate and safe coverage. Maintains cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and accessories, and reports any equipment malfunctions to Bio Med or a supervisor. Processes CDs or prints images when necessary. Handles routine office tasks such as answering phones, checking in patients, obtaining previous reports/films, and other related duties. Shows images to radiologists, communicates reports to attending physicians, and documents any necessary communications. May serve as an instructor or preceptor. Treats all individuals professionally and courteously, in line with facility behavioral standards. Introduces self and educates patients and/or family members about the ordered examination. Demonstrates knowledge and skills in patient care across various age groups, including neonates, pediatric/adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Performs all other related duties as assigned. Duties and hours may adjust according to the needs of offsite practices. Provides coverage rotation to other outpatient off-sites. Position is eligible for certification incentives.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a certified ultrasound program or Limited Permit/certificate.
- (ARDMS) eligibility after 1 year from graduation and 1000 clinical hours) for students.
- ARDMS is required for ACR accreditation compliance after January 1, 2019 or ARRT (s) or RT (VS) experience preferred.
- Breast Imaging experience is nice to have
- Must meet continuing education requirements to maintain certification.
- BLS certification through the (AHA) American Heart Association is required or must be completed with 90 days of hire.
