Ultrasound Technologist Job Description

At St. John's Riverside Hospital, we are committed to providing exceptional patient care and service. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform ultrasound scanning and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the examination.
  • Position and transfer patients to and from the ultrasound table using proper safety techniques.
  • Prepare patients for examination and explain the procedure to them while performing the study.
  • Assist physicians during interventional procedures and maintain a clean and organized examining room and ultrasound machines.
  • Correlate clinical history with the test performed and prepare studies for radiologist reading using PACS.
  • Answer phones and provide appointment information to patients and referring physicians.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an approved school for Ultrasound Technology.
  • ARDMS credential required for candidates with a minimum of 2 years of experience; breast registry preferred.
  • Knowledge of GE Ultrasound unit preferred.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • Manual dexterity for manipulating equipment and ability to communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals.
