As a Crisis Response Specialist with our human services nonprofit in St. Clair County, you are always ready to make a meaningful impact. When a crisis call comes in, you and your team respond immediately, providing on-the-spot support. Using evidence-based tools, you conduct thorough crisis assessments for individuals of all ages, determining the appropriate level of care and support needed. Your compassionate approach helps calm the situation, offering immediate relief and hope.

You offer brief therapeutic follow-ups, ensuring clients feel supported and connected. Maintaining detailed and accurate clinical documentation ensures compliance with COA and other regulatory standards. Collaboration is key; you communicate effectively within the counseling team and across departments, focusing on suicide prevention practices and crisis needs. You assist clients in transitioning to other services and connect families with vital community resources. Each day, your dedication brings comfort and stability to those experiencing behavioral health crises.

We ask that our Crisis Response Specialist have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in counseling and guidance, rehabilitation counseling, social work, psychology, or related human service field
  • A minimum of 21 years of age
  • Ability and willingness to actively participate in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment
  • A valid driver's license with proof of automobile insurance
  • Experience in mobile crisis response (preferred)
