Job Summary

Hoyleton Youth and Family Services is seeking a highly skilled Crisis Counselor I to join our Mobile Crisis Response Team. As a Crisis Counselor I, you will play a critical role in responding to mental health crises in adults and children within St. Clair County.

Key Responsibilities
  • Crisis Assessment and Intervention: Ensure complete crisis assessments are made for all ages using evidence-based tools to determine the appropriate level of care and support needed.
  • Follow-up Support: Provided follow-up supports to all clients encountered through the crisis program.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively within a team environment to meet the needs of those experiencing behavioral health crises.
  • Clinical Documentation: Completes screenings, assessments, and other necessary clinical documentation.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with COA and other regulatory agency requirements.
  • Client Transition: Assist clients in transition to other levels of service and connects families with the appropriate resources in the community.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work across departments to collaborate on suicide prevention practices and crisis needs.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in counseling and guidance, rehabilitation counseling, social work, psychology, or related human service field.
  • Experience: Previous mobile crisis response experience preferred.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, and the ability to flex schedule as program needs change.
