Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Chemical Dependency Detox Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Flex 7A - 7P with weekend and holiday availability Guaranteed Hours: 34.50 hours per week Experience: Minimum two years of RN experience with current Psych experience License: NYS RN License Certifications: BLS, Non-Violent Crisis Interventional Course (8 hours), CPI or PMCS Certification required Must-Have: EPIC experience highly preferred, 5x8 schedule, weekends & holidays required Job Description: - Deliver patient care by incorporating professional practice models and the nursing process based on theory, research, and evidence-based practice.- Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills in the management of patient care.- Integrate assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care.- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.- Prioritize patient care aspects, including teaching, rounding, and coaching, while delegating as appropriate.- Educate patients and caregivers on their plan of care, health promotion, and disease prevention.- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary patient care team.- Manage assignments within Modified Primary Nursing, demonstrating effective resource allocation.- Role model relationship-centered care actions and establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families.- Demonstrate caring, respect, compassion, and empathy through dialogue and actions.- Conduct purposeful hourly rounding on assigned patients, addressing key concerns.- Practice safe, efficient patient-centered care, identifying barriers and opportunities for improvement.- Participate in quality improvement projects and nursing research studies.- Implement principles of high reliability to ensure a safe environment for patients.- Document nursing practice to support quality and performance improvement initiatives.- Perform charge nurse duties and coordinate with clinical management to ensure sufficient supplies and inventory.- Contribute to an environment that supports clinical colleagues, patients, and their families.- Engage in lifelong learning and innovation, progressing from novice to expert nurse.- Participate in shared decision-making through specialty practice councils and unit initiatives. Education: Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing preferred. Associate degree in nursing considered with relevant experience and/or active matriculation in a BSN Program. English proficiency required.
