Job Title: Clinical Nurse - Registered Professional Nurse

Job Specialty: Emergency Services

Shift: Day Shift (7 am - 7 pm) with weekend and holiday availability

Guaranteed Hours: 34.5 hours per week

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, 2 years in Emergency Services

License: RN License

Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Certification

Must-Have: EPIC experience highly preferred

Job Description:

- Deliver patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship-Centered Care using the nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved nursing standards.
- Assess and evaluate patient care needs and apply critical thinking skills in patient care management.
- Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.
- Prioritize all aspects of patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, planning after hospital care, and delegating to others as appropriate.
- Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease, anticipating needs and readiness to learn.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team.
- Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing and demonstrate the effective allocation of material resources.
- Role model Relationship-Centered Care actions, including Bedside Shift Report, Medication Review, and Discharge Wrap Up.
- Consider patients' values, preferences, cultural diversity, expressed needs, and knowledge in all aspects of care.
- Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with patients and families.
- Use evidence-based practices to enhance understanding of patients' perceptions of care.
- Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying barriers and opportunities for improvement.
- Demonstrate clinical skills and knowledge crucial to quality and safety for the patient population served.
- Conduct formal and informal peer and institutional review processes.
- Facilitate patient throughput on a shift basis and conduct Purposeful Hourly Rounding (PHR) on assigned patients.
- Perform charge nurse duties as assigned, ensuring appropriate utilization of supplies and inventory.
- Document in an accurate and thorough manner, complying with hospital, regulatory, and legal requirements and standards of care.
- Contribute to the environment of care to support clinical colleagues, patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Advance clinical competence in nursing practice to progress from novice to expert.
- Encourage and demonstrate a spirit of scholarship, inquiry, lifelong learning, and innovation for self and others.
- Acquire knowledge and skills relevant to the role, patient population, clinical specialty, and health community needs.
- Participate in shared decision-making through specialty practice councils, nursing department committees, and unit initiatives.
