Whether you drive or take the train, we're easily accessible by public transportation and have plenty of public parking locations near the office.

Position Summary:

The Learning and Development Manager plays a key role in fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth by developing and executing learning strategies and programs that are aligned with the organization's objectives. Assesses development needs, and tracks learning effectiveness. Collaboration with department managers and employees to support career development. Manages budgets and cultivates relationships with learning vendors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Strong understanding of organizational objectives in order to create and execute learning strategies and programs that are aligned with these objectives.
  • Partner with people managers to understand the various business units and training requirements and career pathing.
  • Coach managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts.
  • Evaluate individual and organizational development needs.
  • Implement various learning methods companywide (e.g. coaching, job-shadowing, lunch and learns, online training)
  • Design and deliver e-learning and in person courses, workshops, and other trainings.
  • Assess the success of development plans and help employees make the most of learning opportunities.
  • Cultivate existing relationships with learning partners and identify new partnerships to effectively on an as needed basis.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through development and training surveys. Provide management with recommendations for training initiatives.
  • Coordinate and schedule learning sessions and maintain documentation related to employee training.
  • Facilitate New Hire Onboarding.
  • Track budgets and negotiate contracts.
  • Manage quarterly compliance training.
  • Works effectively as a team member with the HR staff.

Experience/Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred. Proven experience as a Sr. Specialist and knowledge of effective learning methods are essential.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of proven experience in designing and delivering training in a corporate environment.
  • Ability to design and implement effective training. Evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
  • Full understanding and knowledge of various training platforms to engage different learning styles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills and ability to moderate large groups.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player. Self-manage workload and meet deadlines timely.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Learning Management Systems (LMS) and various training platforms.
