Schedule: Monday - Friday, 730a-430p or 8a-5p or 830a-530p

What work will you perform?

The EDI Account Specialist role is a highly technical position requiring daily coordination between internal and external parties. This position supports account compliance and ensures smooth account operations with a focus on customer requirements on all awarded business, load tendering, status updates, and 3PL opportunities. Specialists drive root cause analysis and problem resolution on key managed accounts and on accounts requiring a single point of contact. This role also supports the onboarding of new EDI accounts.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Monitor queues and address phone and email to maintain communications between Landstar and a variety of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) customers
  • Work with information technology (IT) staff and external customers to ensure the EDI program is operating at maximum efficiency utilizing available system tools to identify underperforming accounts
  • Generate and distribute monthly and/or quarterly performance reports by acquiring, manipulating, and summarizing data
  • Support business initiatives for existing accounts by providing data to field reps for presentation materials in the form of raw data formatted as summaries, graphs, and slides
  • Complete set up tasks supporting the implementation of new business
  • Handle the investigation, evaluation, and/or resolution of issues and respond to inquiries promptly
  • Assists in preparation, coordination, and documentation of relevant processes
  • Review documents for accuracy and completeness, gathering missing documentation as needed
  • Ensure compliance to customer operational requirements through continuous engagement and collaboration with agents and customers
  • Perform new and on-going training for agents on department processes, systems and procedures
  • Suggest and assist agents with EDI usage strategies to assist in the retention and growth of business
  • Lead calls with customers and agents to quickly diagnose or resolve issues

Required Minimum Experience and Education:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One year of EDI experience

Preferred Experience and Education:

  • Knowledge of transportation industry
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 years of EDI experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Extreme analytical ability
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers in a professional demeanor
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of Cognos and iSeries query
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access
