Astellas is announcing an IT Business Analyst – Research Technology Enablement, opportunity at their Astellas Institute for Regenerative Medicine (AIRM) site in Westborough, MA. Purpose: We are currently looking for an experienced IT Business Analyst to join our Research Technology Enablement Team in North America (Cambridge area). In this role, a position bridges the gap between scientists and Digital Technology to ensure that informatics solutions—such as data analysis platforms and raw data storage solution — enhance drug discovery processes and meet evolving team needs. Essential Job Responsibilities: Serve as a liaison between Business and IT stakeholders to define and document business processes and requirements including, but not limited to, data flow, data storage, application usability, reporting and analytics Lead efforts to capture business, technical, and data migration requirements. Lead testing to ensure implemented solutions meet requirements. Deliver functional, non-functional requirements, use cases, user stories, and user interface designs. Prepare business process documentation including end-to-end data flows, testing plans, test scripts, training, and communication materials. Generate current and future state process flow, data flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOP’s). Utilize project management processes and tools to facilitate Project IT deliverables. Lead stakeholder and project team meetings to drive project and client needs, critical changes, and milestones forward. Prioritize effectively by meeting deadlines and offering fast turnaround times when requested. Work in complex and fast paced environments, while being able to drive progress to meet tight deadlines. Work with other Astellas IT engineering and vendor personnel to implement solutions. Author and develop training materials, “how-to” guides, and knowledge resources to facilitate user adoption of new technology. Qualifications: Required: A Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Information Technology, Biotechnology, Business Administration, or a related field, followed by 5 years of In a related occupation or Master’s degree in above field with at least 3 year of related experience Advanced degrees and certificates are highly desirable (e.g. CAPM, PMP, PMI-PBA, Six Sigma). Have at least 3 years of IT business analysis experience with background in data integration, reporting, system implementations, and system upgrades. Have at least 2 years of experience as a consultant or in a consultant-like role. Scientific Domain Expertise - Experience in biotech/pharmaceuticals Digital solutions (ELN, LIMS, Eetc.) is required. Experience with Research and GLP is required. Experience with Agile methodologies, including managing product backlogs using tools like ADO. Experience with Cloud and on premise infrastructure design and operations You are a quick learner and able to understand new systems and applications to help drive IT and business solutions forward. You strive to proactively identify problems, determine options to address problems, identify pros and cons of potential options, and recommend potential solutions. Ability to communicate well with technical resources as well as project and client leadership. Can blend in with any team but always standout through consistent delivery of high-quality work products and exceptional communication skills. You thrive in challenging environments, where the path forward is not always clear at the outset. You are grounded in solid project management methodology and set and manage expectations extremely well. Must be able to accurately identify problems, determine options to address problems, identify pros and cons of potential options, recommend a solution. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office 365, Visio, SharePoint, OneNote, and Teams. Preference will be given to those located in the Cambridge / Westborough, MA area. Must be willing to travel as needed (typically one week per 1-2 months). Must be eligible to work in the United States.
